Burj Al Arab

One of the most famous hotels in the world. The building stands in the sea at a distance of 280 meters from the shore on an artificial island connected to the ground by a bridge. With a height of 321 m, Burj Al Arab was the tallest hotel in the world until the construction of the Rose Tower Hotel with a height of 333 m, which opened in April 2008. Currently, Burj El Arab ranks 5th among the highest hotels in the world. The hotel was built in the form of a dhow sail, an Arab vessel (therefore, in the vernacular, the hotel is often called a "Sail").
